Your Legacy

Today, I want you to think about four questions.
-How much do you know about your parents?
-How much do you know about your grandparents?
-How much do you know about your great-grandparents?
-How much do you know about your great-great grandparents?
If you are like the majority of people, you will be able to talk extensively about your parents, a decent amount about your grandparents, and minimally about your great-grandparents.  Beyond that, you probably won’t have anything to say about any of your ancestors.
In just two short generations, hardly any of us know who our ancestors are.  We might have a frayed picture tucked away in a safe box or know a story or two about how they came over on a ship from Europe.  But do you know what they thought, who they were, their fears, their dreams, their accomplishments?  Think about that.  In just three generations, our ancestors occupy a minimal amount of space in our memories.  Will this happen to you?
Look forward to the future now.  Three generations from now, how will you be remembered?  What will your great-grandchildren have to say about you?  Will you be forgotten as well?
Here’s my advice for the day--in your life, do something that will cement your legacy on this planet.
